University of Cartagena - XVII International Seminar on Caribbean Studies
"Navigating Multidimensional Conflicts: Perceptions, Alliances, and the Power of Information"
On June 18, 2025, the University of Cartagena hosted a keynote address by Dr. Krzysztof Krakowski, a researcher at King's College London, who shared key findings on the complexity of contemporary social and political conflicts.
During his presentation, Dr. Krakowski analyzed how variables such as ethnicity, gender, and ideology interact to deepen tensions in social contexts marked by historical inequalities. Drawing on case studies and empirical evidence, he showed how misperceptions, strategic alliances, and unequal access to information can act as factors that escalate conflicts, but also as opportunities to generate cooperation and collective transformation.
This activity was part of the University's efforts to foster academic dialogue on current challenges in coexistence, social justice, and peacebuilding , with special attention to the dynamics specific to the Caribbean and Latin America.

Cooking
Flavors of Italy meet the Colombian Caribbean
We had the opportunity to participate in an enriching Italian cooking class. An experience that combined learning, culture, and collaborative work.
During the day, we prepared sauces with traditional ingredients and discovered culinary techniques that reflect the essence of Italian cuisine.
Beyond the culinary aspects, it was a space to share, laugh, and strengthen bonds through flavor.
An activity that allowed us to travel with our senses and celebrate cultural diversity through the kitchen.
